FFA Week provides a great opportunity to provide local K-5 students with engaging resources to increase agricultural literacy. In partnership with Texas Farm Bureau, we are providing a fun, engaging ag in the classroom lesson plan that can be executed by your chapter members, or elementary teachers. 

You chapter members can helps young students to see the world where their food is grown. And how farmers and ranchers touch their lives every day. 

How Many Hats Does a Farmer Wear?      
Grade Levels: 1-4

Purpose: This elementary activity illustrates the wide array of career paths available in agriculture. Students will create a paper "pinwheel" illustration of the many hats that farmers wear.

Estimated Time: 30 minutes

A Day Without Agriculture      
Grade Levels: 3 - 5

Purpose: Students explore the wide scope of agriculture, identify the variety of agricultural products and by-products they use in their daily lives, and discuss the difference between needs and wants. Grades 3-5

Estimated Time: 60 minutes
