Overview      

The purpose of the Applied Agricultural Engineering CDE is to promote career and post-secondary readiness by providing opportunities to develop knowledge and demonstrate skills in the field of agricultural engineering.  

THIS IS A STATE QUALIFYING EVENT. THREE TEAMS FROM EACH AREA WILL ADVANCE TO THE STATE CONTEST (UNLESS WILDCARD RULE APPLIES). 

Rotation Schedule for the state contest held at Sam Houston State University on April 1st is posted in the "Documents" section below!

Additional information: 

As determined with a meeting of ag teachers this summer, we are using the following skills:

  1. SMAW (1G – Butt Joint or 2F - T Joint or 2F - Lap Joint or a 3G - Corner Joint) using E-6010, E-6011, E-6013, and/or E-7018 electrodes. Students will be welding with a Lincoln Electric Precision TIG 175 or 225 welding machine using the SMAW function.
  2. Oxygen-Fuel Cutting with Propane (Students will use Harris style torches - Harris Pipeliner Classic 510 (Male) Propane Cutting Torch Outfit # 4403240)
  3. Blueprint reading/ Layout (please read the state rules regarding layout tools required by each student)

*This contest will use the Ag. Sales / Ag. Mech / FBM (105481) scantron for the written exam portion.
