Overview
The purpose of the Applied Agricultural Engineering CDE is to promote career and post-secondary readiness by providing opportunities
to develop knowledge and demonstrate skills in the field of agricultural
engineering.
THIS IS A STATE QUALIFYING EVENT. THREE TEAMS FROM EACH AREA WILL ADVANCE TO THE STATE CONTEST (UNLESS WILDCARD RULE APPLIES).
Genuine Judging Card Scan sheet #105481 is required for this contest!
The scan sheet will be used for the exam portion.

2025 AAE Skill Areas
1. GMAW
a. Possible electrode(s): ER-70S-6, .030 - .045
b. Shield gas: Argon/CO2 mix
c. Possible materials: Plate, C Channel, Angle (1/8”, 3/16”, 1⁄4”, or 3/8” wall thickness), and Pipe (Sch. 40)
d. Possible machines: Lincoln Electric Power MIG 255, Power MIG 260, and/or Miller Millermatic 252 and/or 255
e. Possibly welding position(s): 1F, 2F, and/or 3F
2. Oxygen Acetylene Cutting
a. Harris torch, Model Number 43450-510-DLX HXT
b. Possible material: Plate, C Channel, Angle, or Pipe – Steel
c. Possible operations: Cutting, Piercing, Hand Beveling
3. Blue-Print Interpretation and Layout
a. Students bring their own measuring, marking, and layout tools
b. Problem will be real-world, and industry-based
c. Potential problem could be economic, manufacturing-based, or mathematics-based
