The purpose of the Applied Agricultural Engineering CDE is to promote career and post-secondary readiness by providing opportunities
to develop knowledge and demonstrate skills in the field of agricultural
engineering.
THIS IS A STATE QUALIFYING EVENT. THREE TEAMS FROM EACH AREA WILL ADVANCE TO THE STATE CONTEST (UNLESS WILDCARD RULE APPLIES).

As determined with a meeting of ag teachers this summer, we are using the following skills:
- SMAW (1G – Butt Joint or 2F - T Joint or 2F - Lap Joint or a 3G - Corner Joint) using E-6010, E-6011, E-6013, and/or E-7018 electrodes. Students will be welding with a Lincoln Electric Precision TIG 175 or 225 welding machine using the SMAW function.
- Oxygen-Fuel Cutting with Propane (Students will use Harris style torches - Harris Pipeliner Classic 510 (Male) Propane Cutting Torch Outfit # 4403240)
- Blueprint reading/ Layout (please read the state rules regarding layout tools required by each student)
