The 96th Annual Texas FFA State Convention theme is "The Life Abundant," which is derived from the fourth paragraph of the FFA Creed, and has inspired a multitude of members in a variety of ways.
The FFA Creed by Erwin Milton Tiffany was adopted at the 3rd National FFA Convention, and while the words were penciled in as a statement of values for the agriculture organization ninety-four years ago, the relevance of its words are strongly felt with immeasurable reverence by members of Texas FFA today.
During the first general session, the Texas FFA State Officer Team shared that the FFA Creed is "a guiding light that unifies us," but each member can discover their "own unique meaning," an idea members have resonated with as they discover what the life abundant means to them.
"The Life Abundant for me means living life to the fullest," said Juan Carlos Cruz, Pleasanton FFA member. "In a world full of abundant opportunities, using each and everyone of these can change, build, and grow us not only as leaders, but as individuals in serving others."
"It's about breaking free from limitations, exploring new horizons, and creating a future that is rich in experiences, growth, and fulfillment," said Harper Mau, Area XI President and Fayetteville FFA member. "It's a powerful reminder to embrace the present, chase our dreams, and make the most of every opportunity that comes our way."
This year's theme rings throughout the convention hall as many components of this year's convention are related to the "the life abundant," providing opportunities for members to learn more about abundant opportunity, gratitude, leadership, success, and legacy.
State President Isaac Hawkins shared, "It is our hope that each of you leaves here with a life abundant in new skills, lifelong friendships, and goals as we lay the foundation for the year ahead."
