As Americans across the world reflect Veteran’s Day, ideals of honor, bravery and loyalty come to mind. America’s military continue to exemplify the values they affirm to such an impressive extent.
The Texas FFA and the United States Armed Forces share many guiding principles and core concepts. The capstone of these is service. This value is a thread woven deeply in the fabric of the each organization.
In 2013 the Texas Army National Guard joined the ranks in support of developing responsible citizens today and ethical leaders for tomorrow through agriculture education by becoming a corporate sponsor of the Texas FFA Association.

Unlike other Armed Forces branches, the Texas Army National Guard serves a dual state and federal mission. Meaning, they answer to both the state of Texas and the federal government. Whether it's a domestic hurricane response within the communities; or, supporting active duty Army abroad, Texas Army National Guard Soldiers are always where they are needed most.
Aaron Alejandro, Texas FFA Foundation Executive Director said “We are honored to have the support of the Texas Army National Guard and know that their core values of service and country parallel those of Texas agriculture science education and the Texas FFA.”
A unique mission creates a unique culture that transcends the Army's seven time-honored values of duty, respect, loyalty, honor, integrity, personal courage and even selfless respect. This culture is one that the Texas FFA Association shares, creating fertile ground in which the partnership between both organizations can grow.
“The enthusiasm and dedication of these incredible young men and women is infectious. Their motto: ‘Learning to do, Doing to learn, Earning to live, Living to serve’ is inspirational and I can think of no better organization to partner with, when it comes to developing tomorrow’s leaders” said Texas Army National Guard Battalion Commander LTC. Jason Heart.

Texas Army National Guard and the Texas FFA share many guiding principles and core concepts. With the shared goals to build character and promote citizenship, volunteerism and patriotism in participants, the organizations parallel on many values.
As we are earning to live and living to serve, let us never fail to be mindful of the sacrifices that Texas Army National Guard and the rest of our Armed Forces. Thank you to those that serve our nation and protect our freedom.
