Members brought their best to the stage during Fun Night at the 97th Annual Texas FFA Convention!
This year, the Texas FFA State Talent Contest was renamed in honor of Rodney Martine, a longtime agricultural science teacher and dedicated volunteer who organized the contest year after year. Martine’s passion and service made a lasting impact, and it is only fitting that the contest will now bear his name, the Rodney Martine State Talent Contest.
The night also celebrated another powerful connection to FFA talent. Many know that Nashville Platinum recording artist Cody Johnson launched his journey to stardom on the Texas FFA Talent Contest stage. Johnson has consistently credited the blue corduroy for shaping his path and has generously given back to the association and local chapters across Texas. In recognition, the scholarship awarded to this year’s winning act was officially named the Cody Johnson Texas FFA Talent Scholarship.
Together, these honors highlight two individuals whose influence and legacy will continue to inspire the next generation of Texas FFA talent.
