Texas FFA members gathered at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas for the 11th Annual Texas FFA Night with the Spurs. The professional basketball team and the agriculture education organization teamed up as the Spurs took on the Los Angeles Lakers on December 11.
“This event provides a great excursion prospect for local chapters, in turn it also provides an ideal opportunity to advocate for our organization,” said Kaleigh Burnett, Texas FFA Student Recognition and Scholarship Coordinator.
In addition, twenty Texas FFA members were introduced at half-time as the 2015 National FFA Proficiency, Agriscience Fair, and Career Development Event Champions alongside the 2015-2016 State Officers.

“Texas FFA’s partnership with the San Antonio Spurs provides our national champions yet another unique stage to celebrate their successful achievement,” said.
Member from the Seminole, Rusk, Sandra Day O’Connor, Hondo, James Madison, Holland, Marion, East Central and Schulenburg chapter took center stage at halftime.
The night was a celebration for the students, as well as the advisors and parents that provided guidance and encouragement toward capturing a national title in Louisville, Kentucky last October at the National FFA Convention.
“It was a once in a lifetime experience to be recognized at a Spurs game,” said Carlye Winfrey, Seminole FFA member and 2015 National Creed Speaking Champion. “I am so grateful for the opportunity to represent Texas FFA.”
