Texas FFA chapters collected more than 150 boxes filled with thousands of art supplies for Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, the host city of the 91st Annual Texas FFA Convention.
Cook Children’s Hospital does their best to minimize the stresses and anxieties of hospital life by providing children with opportunities to play and create art.

“The craft supplies you’re donating will provide a valuable opportunity for therapeutic art opportunities for both parents, siblings and families,” said Audra Trussell, Child Life Program Coordinator at Cook Children’s Hospital.
When FFA members heard about the project, they were more than happy to donate to the cause. Wanting to live out the motto of “living to serve,” the Canton FFA chapter went out and collected donations from their entire town.

“Normally our chapter tries to participate in the service project that is held at state convention every year,” Sydney Ellis of Canton FFA said. “We just wanted to get the community more involved.”
The project is the final part of a three-tier community service project, following a winter coat drive at the State LDE Contest and a children’s clothing drive at the State Leadership Conference.
