The Tarleton Collegiate FFA chapter continues to outshine fellow postsecondary chapters nationwide with values-driven professional members striving to lead and serve.

Collegiate FFA has been around since 1931 and has continued to be an influential part of agriculture education on the university level.

Over 150 members of the Tarleton State University chapter are getting the most out of their college experience by putting their leadership skills into practice through service and engagement activities.

The chapter strives to make a difference on their campus and the surrounding community through leadership and service. Their primary focus is on community service, fundraising and youth in agriculture.

Throughout the year members are engaged in various activities. February marks the chapter’s annual National FFA Week canned food drive that is held in the Joe W. Autry Agriculture Building to raise ag awareness on campus. March marks the beginning of CDE season, where Tarleton proudly hosts the world’s largest Invitational CDE contest each spring, 2013 recorded over 6,000 participants. Then September holds the National FFA Officer Training Camp, where Tarleton host over 20 national officer candidates.

When the chapter is not planning their next event, the members conduct monthly meetings to discuss various opportunities to develop into better leaders, grow as young professionals, network with top employers and industry leaders and continue the tradition of agricultural excellence.

A collegiate FFA chapter is a great asset to any college or university. The Tarleton Collegiate FFA prides itself on focusing on the future of agriculture and continues to help new college students further their FFA involvement.
