Visit the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, to experience AG4U — an action-packed, fun filled day that spotlights the importance of the agriculture industry in our daily lives. The capstone event is the Ag Leadership Forum, a town hall style meeting featuring professional, educational and student leaders in the agriculture community. Open to the general public, the forum is an interactive and enlightening look into what agriculture means to each of us.
New this year, 4-H, FFA and Jr. Rodeo Committee members are participating in a Video Challenge, creating short videos that answer the question “Ambassadors for Agriculture: What Does Agriculture Mean to My Community?” The winning videos will be on display in Reliant Center and showcased at the Forum. This is an excellent avenue for students to compete using classroom knowledge and skills and to engage in advocacy on behalf of agriculture. To download the video challenge entry form, please visit the Web page .The video challenge deadline is February 1st. Come see the creative messages delivered by the youth of Texas!
Everyone is invited to participate in an electronic scavenger hunt that will increase your knowledge of agriculture and give you the opportunity to win fun prizes! Visit the Web page again before the Show to get more information about the activities planned for the 2011 AG4U!
