Dr. William R. "Billy" Harrell, 74, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010 while returning home from Indianapolis where he was working as a volunteer in the National FFA Agricultural Mechanics Career Development Event. Dr. Harrell was a pioneer in the establishment of agricultural mechanics project shows and the creation of the Tractor Technician Career Development Event. He is known by thousands of our students as the man on the oxyacetylene video and countless other ag mech instructional videos.

He was a true teacher with a heart for all students—at both the secondary and collegiate levels, and left a legacy for students and teachers that will stand the test of time. He was serving students and teachers to the very end of his life.
