2024 Texas FFA Photography Contest

The Second Annual Texas FFA Photo Contest provides an opportunity for individuals to share their best agricultural science education pictures with the entire Lone Star State and maybe even win a prize!

This year’s photo contest begins November 4, 2024, and ends December 4, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
 
Contestant Divisions
Division I
: Texas FFA Student Member 
Division II: Texas Agricultural Science Teacher / FFA Advisor
Division III: Texas Agricultural Science Education Supporters
 
Content Categories
The following five content categories are drawn from subjects of special interest to Texas agricultural science education and the Texas FFA Association:
 
Agricultural Science - Must feature current agricultural science education student(s) or teacher(s) in the ag classroom, greenhouse, shop, or barn partaking in an agricultural education lesson/activity. 

Advisor/Student Interaction - Must feature current agricultural science education student(s) and Texas FFA advisor/ag teacher(s) interaction.

Agricultural Advocacy - Must feature visuals connecting agricultural science education and agricultural advocacy. Agricultural advocacy is defined as activities conducted to articulate and promote agricultural programs, practices, policies and/or education to elicit action.

Texas FFA Proud - Must feature a visual utilizing the FFA emblem, FFA jacket, Texas FFA logo, or words “FFA” / “Texas FFA.”

Community Service - Must feature visuals of current agricultural science education student(s) participating in community service activity. 

Texas Agriculture Production or Landscapes - Must feature visuals of Texas production agriculture or agricultural landscapes.


                                 

Contest Rules and Entry Guidelines    

 

By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest and entry guidelines.

Contestant Divisions Descriptions: 
Division I - Texas FFA Student Member - This division is open to current Texas FFA members in good standing. Both junior and active members are eligible. Status will be verified upon entry. 

Division II - Texas Agricultural Science Teacher / FFA Advisor - This division is open to current or retired agricultural science teachers / FFA advisors in Texas. Status will be verified upon entry. 

Division III - Texas Agricultural Science Education Supporters - This division is open to Texas agricultural science education supporters, parents, alumni, etc. 
Submissions will be accepted from November 4, 2024, and ends December 4, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Late entries will not be accepted. 

All photos must be submitted digitally through the submission form. Only digital entries will be accepted. 

All photos must be original work taken by the entrants. No third party may own or control any materials the photo contains, and the photo must not infringe upon the trademark, copyright, moral rights, intellectual rights, or rights of privacy of any entity or person.

Photos must be submitted as a high-resolution jpg image (1080×920; selected photos must be able to be printed at a 12”x 9” size without significant loss of quality).

Where persons are included in a photo and can be identified, a photo release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian, must accompany the entry and be submitted through the official submission form. The official release form can be found here

Photos can be enhanced/edited.
 
The winner will be contacted via the email address provided during entry. If no response is received after [five] business days, a new winner will be selected, and the previous winner will forfeit all rights to the prize.

To be eligible for any category, a photograph must have been shot by the entrant since October 1, 2023.

Individuals may submit up to five photographs per category for a contest total of 25 submissions.

Photos must be taken in Texas.

Entries will be judged by the Texas FFA Association. All decisions are final. The Texas FFA Association reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to stated contest rules.

By entering the contest, entrants agree that photos submitted can be used by the Texas FFA Association including but not limited to publicity, copyright purposes, illustrations, advertising, social media, and web content.
Texas FFA and Texas Team Ag Ed staff, current state officers, and contracted associates are not eligible to enter.

Contest Prizes    

 

One winner will be selected from each category within each division. Those winners will be recognized online and displayed at the annual Texas FFA Convention. 

The photos from the top placing category selections will be evaluated for the overall division prizes below.

Texas FFA Student Member 
1st Place - $100 Amazon Gift Card and Recognition Online and Displayed at the Annual Texas FFA Convention
2nd Place - $50 Shop FFA Gift Card
3rd Place - Texas FFA Swag 

Texas Agricultural Science Teacher / FFA Advisor
