After a year of virtual gatherings, members from across the state reunited in Fort Worth for the 93rd Annual Texas FFA Convention.
This annual event recognizes student achievements, promotes personal development through leadership workshops, and provides the opportunity for members to conduct official association business.
The state officer team encapsulated the theme - Elevate - during the introduction of the session.
“We chose this because although we may have faced insurmountable odds, we believe each of us has the opportunity to take these experiences as a driving force to elevate ourselves, our chapters and our communities,” Texas FFA President Blake Mills said during his welcome to the members.
The session featured guest keynote speaker Amberley Snyder, past State FFA President Carlye Winfrey, and retiring addresses from two current state officers.
Barrel racer and inspirational speaker Snyder concluded the session with an encouraging address. Her engaging speech detailed her challenging journey to rodeo after becoming paralyzed.
Snyder’s story of perseverance inspired FFA members to elevate above the challenges and make a difference regardless of circumstance.
“There’s no future in giving up,” Snyder said. “I dare you not only to elevate yourself, but the people around you.”
