2021 FFA Week Resources

Celebrate FFA, agricultural education and agriculture during National FFA Week, February 20-27, 2021! This is the perfect time to show your community how FFA members live the FFA motto: Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve.

In this short guide you’ll find the must-have tools to plan a dynamic FFA Week. Get with a group of your fellow members and use this information to sketch out fun events, ignite excitement around agriculture and FFA, and maximize your FFA Week activities to make them better than ever.

1. Educate and Advocate Through Local Media or Social Media.
Encourage your fellow members to keep the community up-to-date through social media with facts about agriculture, contest results and upcoming service projects. There are some great shareable resources on MyTexasFFA.org!

Another option is to communicate with your local media outlets (newspapers, radio stations, television stations, etc.) Tell them about FFA Week and highlight the many opportunities FFA has to offer high school students.

2. Host a Local Service Project
The National FFA Organization embraces the idea of giving back to our communities. The last line of the FFA motto “Living to Serve” signifies the vital role service plays in our organization.

Service activities could include volunteering at a local food bank, organizing a clean-up campaign alongside a roadway, or landscaping a town area with plants grown in the chapter greenhouse. Possibilities are limitless when your chapter brainstorms community service projects. There is always a need that can be addressed in your community; you just have to identify it. Also, check out this National FFA Service Planning Guide!

3. Tell Your Texas FFA Story

To help bring attention to the great things our members are doing, we established the My Texas FFA Day hashtag and social media campaign. On Wednesday, February 24, 2021, we are encouraging everyone to flood social media with the positive ways our organization is changing the world.

4. Blue and Gold Day/ FFA Shirt Day at School
Blue and Gold Day is another chance to rock your official dress! It also serves as a great way to educate your classmates on the significance of the blue corduroy jacket we have all grown to love, and how it has influenced thousands of FFA members across the nation throughout the years.

5. Boost Excitement with Some Friendly Competition
Host a FFA Week Scavenger Hunt or Ag Olympics! Come up with engaging games for teachers and students to participate in and win prizes. Make up your own events based on your school’s interests and resources (sack races, roping contests, etc.). Get creative and educational with your activities and most of all, have fun. There are some additional great ideas can be found in this FFA Week Planning Guide!

Has this list inspired you to go all-out this year during FFA Week this year? How do you plan to celebrate FFA week? We want to see it, and share it! Post your FFA Week festivities using #TexasFFA on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
